Is the VPS managed or self-managed?
Self-managed. You get full root access, complete control of the OS and software, and a self-serve control panel for power, console and reinstall. We support the infrastructure. You support what's running on it.
Is my data stored in Australia?
Yes. Your VPS, its data and its backups live in a carrier-neutral Australian data centre, under Australian jurisdiction. We do not replicate customer data to overseas regions. The facility is named on our network page, and our privacy policy lists the few account details that specialist providers handle overseas, such as payment processing.
Can I upgrade my plan later?
Yes. Scale up at any time from the client area. Most upgrades happen live, though storage expansion may require a quick reboot.
What happens if I go over my transfer allowance?
Your port slows to 1 Mbps until the next billing cycle. Nothing is switched off and you are never charged an overage, so there are no surprise bills. You can still reach the server to manage it, and you can upgrade at any time to restore full speed.
What about backups?
VPS plans are self-managed, so backups are your responsibility. Optional off-site snapshots and S3-compatible backup buckets are available as add-ons.
